Derivation
of Kittens' Names ...
MURRINDINDI - This is the name of a locality situated in Victoria. Its name comes from a pastoral run begun in 1837. 'Murrundindi' in the local aboriginal language means 'living in the mountains." There was never a town at Murrindindi although the gold rush town of Higinbotham located nearby, boasted nearly 200 residents about 1868, but this town has now completely vanished.
ROMSEY - is a small community in the Macedon Ranges in Victoria, Australia, located about 60 kms. north of Melbourne. Romsey has a population of about 4,500 people.
KARRAKATTA - is a suburb of Perth in Western Australia. Karrakatta is comprised of two distinct areas - the largest is Karrakatta Cemetery which was established in 1899 - the other is north of the railway line and is occupied by the Australian Defence Force's Irwin Army Barracks. The 2006 census established that, apart from the ADF, it had a population of 5!
NAGAMBI - is another Victorian town, located north of Seymour, nestled on the shores of Lake Nagambie - an artificial lake created by the building of the Goulburn Weir in 1891. Nagambi's population in 2006 was 1,920.
ALBANY - is located in the Great Southern region of Western Australia. Albany is the oldest continuous European settlement in WA and was founded in 1826, 3 years before the state capital of Perth was founded. It has a population of about 35,000, making it one of the larger regional cities in
WA.

June
30 - 2 weeks old yesterday
Now
we're starting to look like real kittens - our eyes are open, we're starting to
crawl around our bed, but most of our day, we just eat and sleep and play with
our toes now and then. Some of us have started to roll around on our backs
with our legs in the air - cute school has started!!

The
kittens had a wonderful time last Tuesday when a film crew from TV Channel 9
filmed two shows for "Talk to the Animals". There will be a
segment on "Ocicat Profile" and another on vet procedures and
techniques in which the kittens played a big part. The kittens
consequently had a very long play-time on Tuesday and were quite happy to sleep
for the rest of the day. On the following day, they fronted up to the door
of their tent for more excitement - but alas, they only had Granny Nola and
Georgia to entertain them ...... but they 'made do'!!
