Derivation of Kittens' Names

Ozspots Jerilderie : Jerilderie is located approximately 60 kms north of the Victorian border and is nestled on the banks of the Billabong Creek, the longest creek in Australia.  Renowned in history for being the only place in NSW that Ned Kelly (one of our famous bush-rangers) visited and the origin of the Jerilderie Letter, it is also considered the gateway to the outback travelling through Griffith, Hillston, Cobar, Bourke and onto Queensland.
Ozspots Cootamundra : Cootamundra is an Australian country town located 385 km SW of Sydney and 318 metres above sea level and is the birthplace of  Sir Donald Bradman, our Aussie cricketer.  It has some of the most beautiful wattle trees in the country - the Cootamundra wattle being just one.   Prior to European settlement the Cootamundra area was inhabited by the Wiradjuri Aborigines. It is widely accepted that it is their word 'gooramundra', which possibly means either 'turtle', 'swamp', 'marsh' or 'low-lying', which was adopted in 1861 when the government decided to construct a 'village of Cootamundry'. It was not officially changed to Cootamundra until 1952.
Ozspots Sir Ivanhoe : Ivanhoe is a small quiet service centre in Outback New South Wales, located 826 km west of Sydney and 90 metres above sea-level. The town was originally situated on a well-used route across flat, western New South Wales between Wilcannia and both Balranald and Booligal.  George Williamson purchased the first land in the area between 1869 and 1873 and became a central figure in the town's development.  He established a branch store with a liquor license in 1870. At that stage the store and a bark hut constituted the town. The Ivanhoe Hotel came into existence by 1872 and a Post Office opened on January 1, 1874.  The town's name probably came from Williamson who named it after Sir Walter Scott's novel Ivanhoe.
Ozspots Lord Melbourne : Melbourne is the second most populous city in Australia.  Located around Port Phillip Bay in the country's south-east, Melbourne is the state capital of Victoria.   Melbourne was founded by free settlers in 1835, 47 years after the first European settlement of Australia as a small pastoral settlement situated around the Yarra River.  Melbourne served as the capital city of Australia from the time of the new nation's Federation in 1901 until Federal Parliament moved to the new, purpose-built capital, Canberra in 1927.
Ozspots Queen Adelaide : Adelaide is the capital and most populous city of the Australian state of South Australia and is the fifth largest city in Australia.  It is a coastal city situated on the shores of the Southern Ocean.  It was named in honour of Queen Adelaide, the consort of King William IV.  Adelaide was founded in 1836 and was the only freely-settled British province in Australia (i.e. not settled by convicts).
Ozspots Jackaroo :
Jackaroos are men employed on Australian cattle and sheep stations (ranches) working mainly from horse-back (Jillaroo is the female version).
