Maryborough - 'Isis' - August, 2008
Hi
Nola,
Just
letting you know that Isis seems to be settling in well. She was understandably
nervous at first, her flight ended up being delayed and she didn’t arrive
until close to 6pm and it must have been a long day for such a little kitten.
She is still quite vocal but hopefully over the next few days she’ll get
settle down, she does forget about it when she is busy playing! We’ve been
adopted as her humans, she was happily sleeping on both our laps last night and
was insisting on her morning cuddle this morning. I’ve attached some photos of
Isis in her favourite sleeping spots, her Ikea cat bed (she’s nothing if not a
trendy cat!) and my husband’s lap.
Thanks again for raising us such a adorable kitten! Kind
regards, Naomi

Hi Nola,
I thought I might give you an
update on Isis. We went to the vet earlier this week for her next round of shots
and she had the staff completely wrapped around her little paw. The vet
nurse stole her away for cuddles for quite a while and the vet thought she was
lovely if a bit unusual. She was happily exploring around his office, climbing
all over him and his computer, all while making her scared miaow.
She certainly wasn’t acting scared, I think she was just being chatty more
than anything! According to the vet she is in perfect health, though
he did discover she has a small hernia. It seems to change in size, which is why
he thinks the vet might have missed it when she was de-sexed but he’s not
worried about it at the moment, when she gets a bit older he’ll fix it up.
Isis has grown heaps over the
past few weeks, she’s looking more like a small cat than a kitten now and
devours almost anything we put in front of her. She’s getting very cheeky, she
keeps discovering new places she can reach and tries to race into rooms in the
house she isn’t allowed into! Naomi

Hi Nola,
I thought I might give you an
update on Isis. She had her adolescent check up yesterday and the vet was
most excited to see her since she used to work in Victoria and hasn’t seen any
Ocicats since she moved here. She only had praise for the breed and thought Isis
was gorgeous. Not surprisingly Isis though the vet was pretty good too since she
knows she is a pretty cat and loves attention. She’s now up to 3.5 kilos and
is fit as a fiddle.
Isis is proving to be not only
very smart but quite cheeky! Her current favourite trick is to hide behind doors
and pounce on you as you walk past. If she is waiting too long she puts on her
sad miaow so I come looking for her and then gleefully gets me as I come to
check on her. She also knows if we are outside she has time to get off the
kitchen bench and run away before we can get inside to tell her off! She loves
her cuddles and insists on getting them as soon as we get home and is quite
happy to voice her displeasure if she doesn’t get them! She’s quite chatty,
which we don’t mind and she prefers to be with us, following us around the
house to keep an eye on us.
I’ve attached some new photos
including some of her adventures in the garden. She is very curious about the
pond and the harness has saved her from falling in a few times!
Naomi

Murrindindi - 'Pebbles' - September, 2008
Hi Nola, How are you doing? We've been
pretty good over here and are totally in love with our little boy. He has
just the sweetest nature. Very affectionate and loves our company where ever we
are. He also likes to talk a lot and he prefers to sleep in our bed with
us - usually under my chin. He took a little while getting settled but we
think he has found his groove. He eats well and is very playful but has some
sharp claws which we encourage him to use on the cat gym and not on us.
Lately he has been bringing his favourite toy into bed and plays with it if he
gets bored during the night. He didn't purr much when he first got here but now
he purrs at the drop of a hat. Attached are a couple of pictures of
Pebbles. Thank you so much for our beautiful little man. He is
currently helping me type this email... so very cute.
kind regards, Rosie

Toowoomba - 'Oscar' - September, 2008
Hi Nola
I thought I would just send a short note to let you know how our new family
is progressing.
Oscar has settled in beautifully, he has a lovely bed that he sleeps in all
night, right beside mine. We have had no accidents in the litter
department and he is eating well. He loves to snuggle on my lap at night
while I am watching the TV and we have play time together at set times in the
morning and evenings so as when I go back to work in a couple of weeks he will
not miss it.
We had quite a few extra visitors on Father's Day which did not put him out
at all, he came out to visit with everyone and then went back to snoozing.
He is quite the showman and very affectionate and Darrel and I both love him to
bits.
Thanks for everything, Sue M
