About Oz Catz'
Ocicat Kittens
Here at Oz Catz, we take a great deal of care
with all our kittens.
We usually have kittens available most of the
year - many are sold before they are born -click here for the link to The Kitten Waiting
List.
Oz Catz' Ocicat
Kittens are Inside Only Cats
We don't take
such good care of our kittens for them to end up as road-kill! Therefore, please remember our Ocicat kittens are
inside only cats - or in a properly constructed cat run in the garden.
The notion that
cats are free spirits and need their freedom to come and go as they please is an idea that is old-fashioned and
wrong. Cats that are allowed unsupervised freedom have a life-expectancy of less than 2 years, particularly if they
are pedigreed cats that have never been permitted to roam freely. None of our cats or kittens are allowed to roam
unsupervised. Our cats do not endanger themselves, or wild-life and are not a nuisance to our
neighbours.
Too many of our
beautiful Ocicat kittens are now gone - stolen, lost or killed on the roads - just because they were allowed
outside on their own.
Oz Catz' Ocicat kittens are inside only
kittens / cats! Or if you want to have your kitten enjoy the sunshine and wind in his whiskers,
visit our Links page for Cat
Netting to enable you to construct secure a cat run for your kitten/cat.

Ocicat
Generations
All our Ocicat
kittens are fully pedigreed Ocicat kittens.
The rare
exceptions to this will be when the kitten is part of the "Oz Catz Supplementary Breeding Program", in which
case, the kitten will be clearly identifiable by its title - for instance, OZSPOTS MARY (Gen 3). The postscript,
Gen 3, identifies this kitten as a third generation Ocicat.
The reason is
that as Ocicats are a relatively new breed and the gene pool is small world-wide, established breeders may
obtain special permission from their registration body (in our case, the GCCFV) to breed Ocicats back to
pedigreed Abyssinians, one of the foundation cats of the Ocicat breed.
In this way, we
can widen the gene pool and maintain the health, strength and vitality of the Ocicat
breed.
Kittens which
are Gen 2 or Gen 3 Ocicats are not different by sight to a full generation Ocicat (that is a Gen 4 or more) and
possess all the personality, character and temperament of the regular Ocicat.

These reasons plus the intangible ones
- the loving care we give each kitten

Make
our Oz Catz' Ocicat kittens the best you will
