Oz Catz - 1st Class Ocicat Breeder
The following reasons, plus many more, make our Ocicat
kittens the best quality Ocicat kittens you will find in Australia. We don't take short cuts with the health,
welfare and safety of our Ocicats and kittens.
Our Ocicats are
not permitted to roam at large
We respect our native animals and birds as
well as our cats. Cats permitted freedom to hunt in bush-land or suburban back-yards are no better than
ferrals, regardless of their pedigree. Our Ocicats therefore do not kill wild-life and birds, nor are they subject to the many cat
diseases and viruses, like Feline Aids, that are found in Australia's free-roamiing cat
population.
Our
Ocicats and kittens are fed prime quality food
Our cats and kittens are fed a variety of
fresh meats as well as other foods high in protein, calcium and other nutrients. Our kittens are fed fresh beef freshly processed,
free from any preservatives, as well as other tasty and nutritious foods
Our Ocicats are safe from snake bite,
road trauma, dog & ferral cat attacks
We care for our Ocicats - they are part of our
family. Cats are not free
spirits that need their freedom. Cats should be an important and loved part of their family, cared for in the same way as
other loved companion animals.
We are
seriously committed to the Ocicat breed
We commit our total time to raising our
beautiful Ocicat kittens and caring for our adult Ocicats. 'Hobby breeders' breed primarily for the 'pet
market', whereas we aim for top quality examples of the Ocicat breed - beautiful, strong, healthy and
confident. This does not mean
our kittens are not for pet owners - it just means that our kitten buyers are assured of the very best of
everything in their kittens. The
Ocicat is after all, the cat for the connoisseur as well as for families with young children.
Our
breeding Ocicats include many imported cats
Our sole aim is to produce the very best
Ocicat kittens we can which can only be achieved by importing new Ocicat breed lines. Ocicats are still a rare breed in Australia,
currently free from any genetic problems. This will not remain the case unless new Ocicat breeding lines are
brought into Australia and breeders protect the health and vitality of the Ocicat by resisting the temptation
to take short cuts with inbreeding - that is mating closely related cats. Oz Catz has imported many new Ocicat breeding
cats into Australia - see them in "Importing New Ocicats".
Our Ocicat kittens are never in-bred!!
We choose our Ocicat mating pairs to provide
quality and health in our Ocicat kittens. As you check out our web pages
you will come across 'ICC' ratios for each litter we breed. This allows kitten purchasers to know the mating
and kittens are well within the optimum 'ICC' or inbreeding co-efficient range. For more information click
here.
That's our commitment to keeping our Oz
Catz' kittens the best you can find. No other Ocicat breeder in Australia can currently demonstrate anywhere near
this commitment to keeping the Ocicat healthy and strong - attributes which are reflected in our Ocicat
kittens.
